One of the most famous cities of Pakistan and the capital of Punjab, Lahore is well known for its historical sites, culture, festivals and landscapes. The main attraction of the city is the historical background and beautiful architecture which dates back to the Mughal era.

If you get a chance to visit Lahore, here are a few places which you simply cannot ignore:

Lahore Fort

Lahore fort, also known as Shahi Qila, is a wonderful and historical Mughal palace which was build in the 11th century. Located in the northern end of the walled city, this massive fort comprises of different halls, palaces, mosques and gardens.

Badshahi Mosque

Another example of the beautiful architecture, Badshahi mosque is a real treat for the tourists. The famous mosque was built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, in the year 1674. Is has the capacity to accommodate around 40,000 people to worship in a single prayer session.

Minar e Pakistan

Holding a very special place in every Pakistani’s heart, this place is of a great importance. Located in the famous Iqbal park, it is a perfect representation of the ideology of Pakistan. Built in 1960s this place reminds us of the Lahore resolution which was passed on the 23rd of march, 1940.

Wagah Border

Another very important place to visit in Lahore is the Wagah border, which separates Pakistan from its neighbor country, India. A ceremony takes place here every evening where military performs at both ends. The patriotic and cheerful crowd is something one should not miss being in Lahore.

Wazir Khan Mosque

Wazir khan mosque is a perfect example of the beautiful display of decorative tile work. This mosque is the most attractive place for tourists and photographers as the entire structure is covered with colorful mosaics. Though it was built back in the Mughal era, it’s mesmerizing beauty still looks fresh and eye-catching.
